She says,
A blog dedicated to vegetarian food recipes, largely from India but also from other parts of the world. There are also a lot of eggless baking recipes. The majority of the recipes provide a step-by-step photo tutorial. They are simple to comprehend and relate to. Short films with step-by-step pictorial instructions are available for some recipes.
In February 2009, I launched vegrecipesofindia.com to keep track (online journal) of my family recipes, as well as the ones I had produced and the ones I had been taught in.
My spouse insisted that I start keeping an online journal, so I did. Of course, I had no clue that my blog would grow to be India’s most popular vegetarian food blog at the time.
Our original brand name was “Veg Recipes of India,” but we changed it to “Dassana’s Veg Recipes” in June 2020. This name change was undertaken to expand our aim of sharing vegetarian dishes from all around the world, not simply Indian food.
I’ve been presenting international recipes from the beginning of my site. However, we decided it was time to highlight my professional training in cooking, baking, and confectionery, as well as my expertise with both international and Indian cuisines, on the site.
I have a bachelor’s degree in home science and have been educated in both traditional Indian and international cuisines. In addition, I’ve interned in a five-star hotel.
My education in food science, food technology, nutrition, and dietetics has taught me everything I know about cooking, baking, and confectionery.
Even before I had professional training, I had learned the fundamentals of cooking from my elders since I was ten years old. Cooking is one of my most ingrained skills.
We’ve published 1800 vegetarian food recipes over 11 years, making it one of the most comprehensive collections of genuine Indian vegetarian recipes available, all of which have been tried and tested and are accompanied by step-by-step images.
The recipes are also accompanied by several ideas and recommendations to make it easy for anybody to prepare them.
All of the recipes are first tried and tested in our kitchen before being published on the site. I make the recipes with the housewife in mind. So that it is simple and one does not have to go looking for ingredients – particularly those that are difficult to come by in India.
Our vegetarian food recipes come from our families, relatives, and friends. Some of the recipes were modified from my culinary course, while others were taken from cookbooks. I’ve been creating some of these recipes on my own for a long time.
Some of the recipes were created and developed by myself. I always give credit to the source of any dish I modify from a cookbook or the internet.
If the recipe comes from my mother, mother-in-law, or a friend, it will be noted in the post.
Whether it’s creating a basic pizza, a loaf of bread, or a Chocolate Cake, we always prefer homemade cuisine. We believe in cooking using fresh, readily available ingredients.
We don’t eat junk food or excessively processed foods. As a consequence, our family is in good health. Our motto is to eat well and stay well.
Many nutritious recipes using whole grains and cereals may be found on the blog. Wherever feasible, I’ve incorporated healthy ingredients in many of my baking recipes.
I used to purchase organic even before I started blogging, and I still do today. Everything in our grocery store is organic, from grains to sugar and flour.
We even buy organic fruits and veggies. In India, I am unable to obtain all organic veggies and fruits. But I try my best to purchase anything we can. As a result, you’ll find fewer recipes for luxury fruits and imported veggies on the blog.
We purchase locally grown veggies and fruits to assist our country’s farmers.
We also make it a point to showcase some regional recipes created using uncommon products or vegetables that aren’t widely available. We’ve tried to include at least one recipe for each of these ingredients. For example, we’ve covered a wide range of gourd varietals.
We have shared vegetarian food recipes of ingredients which are available only in some Indian states like fresh jowar grains, lotus stem, amaranth leaves, colocasia leaves, Chinese potato (koorka), tapioca root, banana flower, khus grass, nannari, makhana, sandalwood powder, turmeric leaves, lilva beans and flours like water chestnut flour, buckwheat flour, amaranth flour, barnyard millet flour, arrowroot flour etc.
People who want to utilise these items should be able to readily develop dishes with them, according to us. This is beneficial not only to farmers but also to us, as the majority of these components are nutritious.
Indian cuisine is both diverse and broad. There is so much variety that we are confident that no other country can match it. From a simple dal to a sumptuous biryani, from a light dinner to a big thali feast, there’s something for everyone.
In India, there are hundreds of different types of cuisine to choose from. Not to mention the cakes and sweets. Indian street food is another gastronomic treat in India.
The vegetarian food recipes are also very varied depending on the locale. The cuisine of North India differs from that of South India. Then there’s Rajasthani, Gujarati, Maharashtrian, and Goan cuisine, which make up the western and central belts, respectively, as well as Bihari, Agarwal, Awadhi, and Lucknowi cuisine, which are all extremely diverse.
There are also Parsi, East Indian, Sindhi, and Iranian elements in the mix. Not to mention the cuisine of the North-Eastern states and Kashmir. As a result, welcome to the realm of Indian cuisine.
Our recipes are popular among our blog followers, readers, and patrons. We’re also appreciative of the blessings, great energy, and well wishes we’ve received from our readers.
Positive energy indeed makes a difference. The hundreds of nice comments, reviews, and mentions we’ve received on our most popular dishes.
